Description
The abundance of massive halos (and of the galaxy clusters they host), the clustering of galaxies, and weak gravitational lensing are key observables of the cosmic large-scale structure. Over the past decade, tremendous progress was made in obtaining high-precision measurements, notably thanks to sensitive wide-field surveys of the cosmic microwave background (CMB), of the X-ray sky, and of galaxies and gravitational lensing. Recently, the abundances of SPT-selected and of eROSITA-selected clusters — in combination with weak-lensing mass calibration — were shown to be compatible and competitive with analyses of galaxy clustering and weak lensing (3x2 pt). The joint analysis of the cluster abundance and 3x2 pt thus promises to deliver extremely tight constraints on the z < 2 universe and an ideal complement to measurements of the CMB by the Planck satellite.
In my talk, I will review the SPT cluster cosmology and mass calibration program. I will then discuss the joint analysis of SPT clusters and DES 3x2 pt measurements and present new cosmological constraints.
