Description

Galaxy clusters are fundamental cosmological proxies and precious places to investigate plasma physics. These two aspects are interconnected and dependent. I will focus my contribution on the mass distribution, presenting new methods to recover and model the gas velocities and the non-thermal pressure support in X-ray luminous galaxy clusters, and how these quantities can be interpreted as a major contributor to the hydrostatic mass bias. I will show constraints based on data obtained with the current (XMM-Newton, XRISM) X-ray observatories, and illustrate predictions and techniques applied to the expected exposures with LEM and newAthena.
